Novelty carpets do not roll. A real green does. Ours are built with putting-specific nylon, real cup positions, correct contour, and a fringe collar so a putt from the fringe feels like a putt from the fringe.
A backyard putting green is a different build from a turf lawn. It uses a putting-specific nylon fiber at a shorter pile, a firmer and more precisely contoured base, and a fringe collar where it meets the rest of the yard. Because of that it is priced separately from our landscape blends and quoted after we see the space.

Real Roll Speed
Putting nylon has a specific pile height and infill weight. The roll speed matches what a real short course green feels like, not a hallway carpet.

What People Ask About Putting Greens
How much does a backyard putting green cost?
More per square foot than a landscape lawn, because of the nylon fiber, the contoured base and the fringe. We do not publish a per-foot number for greens the way we do for our three landscape blends, because green cost depends heavily on contour, cup count and access. We quote it on site.
How much space do I need?
There is no minimum that makes a green worthwhile. Small greens with one or two cups fit comfortably in a corner of a normal suburban back yard. Space mainly determines how much break and how many pin positions you can build in.
Can you build in slope and break?
Yes. Contour is shaped into the base before any turf goes down, so a subtle break in the base becomes real break on the putt. This is the part that separates a built green from a mat.
What is the fringe collar for?
It transitions from the short putting nylon to a longer-pile blend around the edge. It makes the green look like it belongs in the yard rather than dropped into it, and it gives you a surface to chip from.
What maintenance does a green need?
Brushing to keep the nylon standing and the roll true, blowing debris off, and topping up infill occasionally. No mowing, watering or rolling.
